The Sky

A simple little poem which I wrote years ago (in 1996 to be exact) which just popped back into my head tonight :)




How beautiful is the sky,
Like a clear blue sea.
And the clouds so high
Makes me think in glee,
What it would feel like to fly
On the wings of a bumble bee!

The Silver Ring

A simple silver ring this gift may be,
Neither flashy nor grand as you can see;
But it's a promise for you from me,
That I'll be forever true to thee.


Like a river, time will endlessly flow;
The things in this world they will come and go.
But like the ring on your finger does show,
Our love's a circle and with time will grow.

Gold

Stories long told,
The songs of old;
A Life once lived,
Deaths many grieved;
Pictures painted,
Words we chanted;
The smiles we shared,
Days we despaired;

Times of old,
Indeed are gold!

One Message Received

Tension filling the very air,
Eagerness in every strand of hair.
The clock's every tick grows longer,
It's sound becoming ever stronger
While every breath becomes labored;
Reality getting altered.

The shadows on the blank wall
Engaging in a reckless brawl
Each with their very own intention
Like a sulky angry ocean.

Finally time seems to stop,
You can hear even a pin drop;
The silence deafening your senses
Reminding all your offenses.

Then you hear that magical note
And Hope once again is afloat
The three words that make it worthwhile
Casting all fear into exile-
ONE MESSAGE RECEIVED

[Any lover in a long distance relationship knows what I'm talking about :)]
